About the event
100 Years of Cuban Music — Marcos Crego
Havana-born pianist Marcos Crego plays two Santa Fe dates this October with members of the Latin band Nosotros, tracing a century of Cuban music from folkloric and traditional son through mambo, timba, and modern Cuban jazz.
Crego studied at Havana's Conservatorio Manuel Saumell and the Amadeo Roldán Music School and has performed with Klimax, Francisco Céspedes, the Hermanos Arango, and the Afro-Cuban All Stars under Juan de Marcos González of Buena Vista Social Club. He received two Grammy nominations in 2012 for Edwin Bonilla's Homenaje a los Rumberos. He is joined by percussionist Jesse Joaquin Parker and multi-instrumentalist Michael Burt Jr.
